IPL is similar to a laser treatment. However, a laser focuses just one wavelength of light at your skin, while IPL releases light of many different wavelengths, like a photo flash.
The light from IPL is more scattered and less focused than a laser. IPL penetrates down to the second layer of your skin (dermis) without harming the top layer (epidermis), so it causes less damage to your skin.It works best if you have pale or light brown skin. Helps improve skin conditions related to:
Acne
Birthmarks
Stretch marks
Liver or age spots
Broken blood vessels
Brown spots, also called liver or age spots
Dark spots from hormonal changes
Discolored skin
Fine wrinkles
Freckles
Redness from rosacea
Scars
Spider veins
Unwanted hair

IPL photofacials involve light being absorbed into the skin. The more intense nature of the IPL light pulses allows this light to be absorbed more deeply.
IPL photofacial light is soaked up by the hemoglobin (red blood cells) and melanin (pigmentation) in the skin, intentionally damaging these areas.
The damaged melanin breaks up and is absorbed by the skin, decreasing its appearance on the skin’s surface.
The damaged hemoglobin stimulates blood flow, causing the melanin to be absorbed more efficiently.
Treatment time depends on the size and number of areas treated, but it generally takes one hour.
There may be momentary discomfort, which is relived with a cooling gel that helps relieve sensitivity.
Following your treatment, brown spots will immediately darken and skin may appear slightly red. Any redness will dissipate within a few hours.
Within 1-3 weeks, the darkened spots will flake off and fade, redness or veins will decrease, and skin tone will become much more even.

Photofacial treatment results are permanent, however, the skin is susceptible to additional damage through sun exposure. One to three (1 to 3) treatments are usually needed to see results; however, additional treatments may be recommended for excessively sun-damaged skin. To avoid new brown spots, veins, and to diffuse redness, remember to always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day. We also offer a series of treatments for the best results. IPL Photofacial treatments can be done on the arms, legs, shoulders, chest, neck, hands, and face.
